Why Slack rather than the extension alone
Your alerts always show in the extension, by clicking its icon. Slack adds two things: the team and the moment. A vendor request spotted by your monitoring, sent to #prospecting, is seen by whichever salesperson is free right then, not only by the person who installed the extension. And a Slack message reaches the phone: you know a post just came out without having Chrome in front of you.
Prosko sends alerts through an incoming webhook — an address Slack gives you that allows posting messages to one specific channel. No app to install in Slack, no Prosko account, no server in between: your browser talks directly to Slack.
Create the webhook in Slack
- Open api.slack.com/apps with your Slack account and click Create New App, then From scratch.
- Name the app — "Prosko", say — and choose your workspace. That name will be the sender of the messages.
- In the left-hand menu, open Incoming Webhooks and switch on Activate Incoming Webhooks.
- At the bottom of the page, click Add New Webhook to Workspace, pick the channel that will receive the alerts, then Allow.
- Copy the address that appears. It starts with
https://hooks.slack.com/services/.
The channel can be private: Slack lists it if you are a member. One address means one channel; to switch channels later, create a new address on the same page.
Paste it into Prosko
- Click the Prosko icon in Chrome, then open the settings.
- Open Where to alert me, then In Slack or Discord.
- Paste the address into Destination address. Prosko works out on its own that it is Slack.
- Tick Send my alerts there, then click Send a test message. The message reaches the channel a few seconds later.
On first install, the setup assistant asks the same question — "Where do you want to be alerted?" — and takes the address in the same place. Either way, the address is stored in your browser only: it is never included in a backup of your settings, because it grants the right to write to your channel.
What the message looks like
Each alert is a block, and the finds from one sweep are grouped into a single message — up to ten — so as not to flood the channel.

The name links to the post. The rule's name says why the alert exists; the words in backticks are the ones that triggered it. The ✅ line is the AI assistant's verdict, in its own words: what it understood of the post. If the assistant could not re-read the post, the line says so explicitly — you always know whether a find was checked or not.
As a team
One licence per person, one channel for all. Each person running the extension has their own licence and their own destination address; nothing stops several addresses from pointing to the same channel. Two salespeople with different rules feed the same #prospecting, and every alert carries the name of the rule that produced it.
One channel per use. #prospecting, #brand, #recruiting: the reader is not the same, nor is the pace. Rather than one catch-all channel, one address per use, created in a minute on the same Slack page.
React in Slack, reply on LinkedIn. A ✅ emoji on the alert to say "I've got this" keeps two people from answering the same post. The reply itself happens on LinkedIn, in your name.
What to know before you start
- Nothing is sent without you. Prosko sends only to the address you pasted, only alerts. It does not read your Slack, does not see your channels, and has no right beyond writing to the chosen channel.
- The address is a secret. Anyone holding it can write to your channel. Do not share it; if it leaks, delete it from the Slack page and create a new one.
- Alerts wait for Slack, not the other way round. If Slack does not respond — an outage, a deleted address — alerts are kept in the extension, and a Resend pending alerts button ships them as soon as it is fixed. Nothing is lost silently.
- Slack or Discord, your choice. One installation sends to one address; Prosko recognises which of the two you use. Alerts remain visible in the extension either way, and can also show as desktop notifications.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be a Slack workspace admin?
It depends on your workspace settings. In most, any member can create an app and an incoming webhook; in some, an admin must approve the installation. If the Add New Webhook to Workspace button asks for approval, send the request — the admin sees exactly what is being allowed: writing to one channel, nothing else.
Can I send each rule to a different channel?
One installation sends to a single address, so a single channel. Every alert does carry the name of its rule, though, which is enough to sort within a shared channel. If you really want separate channels, two team members with different rules can each point to their own.
Does the webhook work with a private channel?
Yes. Slack offers the private channels you belong to when choosing the destination.
What if I change channel or workspace?
Create a new address on the same Slack page, paste it into Prosko in place of the old one, send a test message. One minute.
Does Prosko have access to my Slack messages?
No. An incoming webhook allows one thing only: posting to the channel it was created for. Prosko reads nothing, sees nothing else, and has no server that could do so in its place.
